Guido Tschugg is a professional mountain biker with his own limited edition Haibike xDURO Signature model which was recently presented at the Eurobike show. He is also a moto head, and does a lot of his training at his local track of Unterreit on his Husqvarna FC350. Motocross is great training for Downhill mountain biking. Whilst not exactly the same, it helps a lot to improve your riding technique and also your fitness.
Guido invited us along yesterday for a ride, so we loaded up the KTM 350 SX-F and hopped in the car for the hour drive to Untereitt. The track is very narrow and covered in rocks. Rolling around checking the track out I wondered what I was doing there, but a few laps later and after having cleared all of the jumps except the 25m gravity booster in the middle, the track started to flow really nicely. It is tight, but the jumps have been really well designed and are super fun to hit. Anyway, I started having a lot of fun and a few sessions passed by really quickly. With the track about to close, the sun was hitting the top corner of the track perfectly, so I rushed back and grabbed the camera to catch a few shots of Guido scrubbing like Roczen down the hill for 5 minutes before the sun went down.
