This is the Season's centre: your own range beside the market you sell into, where you lead, where you follow, and by how much. The market bars below are live, from the current count. The brand is invented, because the free page names no brands; in your Season, this chart shows yours.
Market bars: bikes, latest season, live from the Index. BRAND X is invented. A Season shows every brand we measure, by name, against its market, for every season we hold, in the category you choose.

Counted from what brands put on sale.
Every number on this site comes from products that brands have published on their own websites. We keep a list of 415 brands across bikes, e-bikes, moto and apparel, read each brand’s line-up, measure the colour of every product from its photo, and check it against the name the brand gave it. Then we count how many colourways each colour family had, by season and by market. Because it is a count of real products, every number can be traced back to something you could have bought.
We keep the brand list and the reading method to ourselves. We publish the count, how it was made, and the rules that keep it honest: at least five brands and forty colourways behind every number, no single brand counting for more than 30% of it, and every change counted across the same brands in both seasons.
Four counts a year. One morning each.
The count runs in March, June, September and December, and re-counts everything on sale that day. Bikes launch mostly between July and September, motorcycles around November, apparel twice a year, so every report opens with what came on sale since the last count, by brand and by colour, and a quiet quarter still tells you what left the shelf and how the mix shifted. September closes the season, names the Colour of the Year and scores last year’s call. Every report lands in your account that morning, with an email carrying the headline numbers and the link, so nothing waits in an inbox and nothing is too big to send.
Before you pay.
- Why is the Index free?
- Because a reference has to be free to become one. The Index is what the trade quotes; everything paid is the same measurement in more detail, with brands named, or with judgement on top.
- How often do I get a report?
- Four times a year. The count runs in March, June, September and December, and every subscriber gets the new report the morning it publishes, opening with what came on sale since the last count. September closes the season, names the Colour of the Year and scores last year’s call.
- Do prices change?
- Once a year, with the September count. A subscription keeps its price for the year you paid for.
- How do I pay?
- By card through Stripe for concepts, the Season and Pro, with a VAT ID accepted at checkout and the invoice in your account. Anything arranged with a person is invoiced.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, from your account or by email. A yearly plan renews unless you cancel at least a month before the year ends, and the year you paid for stays yours to the end.
- Who can buy?
- Businesses, buying for their trade. Trends is not sold to consumers, so at checkout we ask for your company name and a tick that you buy for a business. The Trends terms say the rest.
- Can several people in my company use it?
- Yes. One subscription covers one company; share it inside your walls as you like.
- Is my own brand in it?
- If you publish your line-up online, yes, measured like everyone else. Subscribers see every brand named, their own included; the free Index names none. You can see how your range was counted, correct it or ask us to stop reading your site: how we read a site.
- Can we have the numbers inside our own systems?
- Tell us what you are trying to do with them and we will say whether we can help. There is no self-serve product for it: what the numbers are for changes what the right answer is.
- Do you share who subscribes?
- No. The list of subscribers stays private, always.
- Is any of this sales data?
- No, and we say so on every page. It is the share of colourways on sale, in other words what the trade could buy. Nobody publishes sales by colour, and this is the closest measured thing to it.
