BUILD A CONCEPT · WHAT YOU GET

Three colour concepts you can stand behind.

Tell us about your product in a line, a document or a few answers. The Colour Index, our count of the colours actually on sale in your sector, goes in with it, and a panel of eighteen models each answer from what you sent and from that count. You get three colour concepts back: the colours themselves, the reason for every one, the research behind them, a PDF and the colour files. You see who said what, and where they disagree.

In your Seasonone concept with every count; Pro, whenever you need oneWithout a subscription: €1,999 for three concepts, net of VAT, by card. Private by default and yours to keep. Pay by card when you send it; change a concept or add another while you settle on it.

A free taster runs six of the eighteen models on one concept, so you can see what an answer looks like before you pay for one.

WHAT YOU GET

An answer you can take into the room.

This is the thing you put in front of a product manager, a paint supplier and a sales director, and it has to survive the question “why that colour?” from each of them. So every concept comes with the count behind it, the reason for every colour, and the record of which models backed it.

01 · The concepts

Three, unless you ask for more

One to six concepts, three by default, each built out as colourways, meaning one finished colour combination for the product, from the volume seller to the hero. Each model answers on its own, without seeing the others, and every answer keeps its name, so nothing is blended into an average.

02 · The numbers behind them

Your sector, measured

The Colour Index for your sector goes in with your brief, so the models argue from what the market actually put on sale this season rather than from a mood board.

03 · The materials

Every colour in its material

A colour is only decided once it is decided in something. Each one comes back with the material it suits, the process that makes it and what to watch for on the line.

04 · The evidence

Every claim names its source

When a model quotes a report, that is recorded as a claim about the report, and it stays a claim until someone has opened it. Nothing is presented as checked that has not been.

05 · The files

PDF, page and colour kit

The same document as a PDF and as an interactive page you can reopen, plus the colour kit as ASE, CSV and PNG, so the colours go straight into your tools.

06 · The record

Every answer kept

Each model’s answer is kept with its name and the date, so you can always see who said what, and why.

SEE IT BEFORE YOU BUY

A concept, page by page.

Pages from the sample concept, an urban e-bike for 2028, at the size you would read them. The layout is the real one; the brief, the answers and the numbers are invented.

WHAT LANDS ON YOUR DESK

Every colour comes with its reason.

Someone will ask why that colour. This is the answer you hand them.

01 · THE EVIDENCE

Where each claim came from

Every claim names its source. If nobody has checked that source, it says so.

  • Verified at source: two search models fetched the publisher's table and it matches
  • Fetched, not fully confirmed: the source exists, the figure could not be matched line for line
  • Several models, unchecked: more than one model cited it, nobody has opened it yet
  • One model only: a single model's claim, marked as one

When a model quotes a report, that is a claim about the report. We treat it as a claim until someone has opened the report.

02 · THE CROSS-CHECK

Your buyer buys other things

Trainers, phones, cars. The fastest of those trains their eye, and it is usually not you.

  • Who: which categories matter for your buyer
  • Verdict: ahead of you, level, behind, or going the other way
  • Agreement: how many models found it on their own
  • Outside: one published source from outside your industry
03 · THE ARGUMENT

One sentence you can say out loud

What changed, how the colour is made, and what you say when asked why.

  • Timing: why this colour, and why now
  • Cost: what it costs to get wrong in that material
  • Backing: which models backed it, by name
04 · THE DELIVERABLES

When someone asks why, you have the answer

“It feels right” is a hard answer to give in a range review. You get the colours, the reasons, and a record of who said what, as a PDF and as an interactive page.

WHO IT IS FOR

Three moments this helps.

Before a range review

You have a feeling about where the colours should go and a room full of people who need more than a feeling. You get three concepts with the market count and the reasoning attached.

When a supplier is pushing a colour

You want an independent view of whether that finish is growing in your market, in the material you would make it in, before you commit tooling to it.

When you are stuck

Eighteen models see more of the market than one team can. Where they agree, you have a direction. Where they disagree, you have found the interesting question.

ONE BRIEF, THREE DIRECTIONS

The market goes in. Three concepts come out, with the reasons written down.

Tell us the brand, the market and the season. The measured count for your market goes into the brief, eighteen frontier models answer it on their own, and what comes back is three directions you can take into a range review, each with the colours, the reasoning and the evidence behind it.

QUESTIONS

Questions people ask first.

How long does it take?
A few minutes. We email you the link the moment it is ready, and the document is ready to read or download then.
Is it private?
Yes, by default. Your brief and your concepts are visible only to you. You can publish it to the gallery at the same price if you would like it seen.
Can I change my mind?
Yes. Change a concept or add another while you settle on it. Each change is a fresh run of all eighteen models on your updated brief.
Is this a validated call?
It is what the eighteen models thought on a given date, kept exactly as they wrote it. Treat it as a strong starting point for your own judgement.
What if I need a person in the room?
Tell Piers what you are looking for. If he can help, he will put a price on it before anything starts. Details are on the pricing page.
