This winter just seems to go on and on! Anyway, we headed out to Stegenwald X-Bowl arena for the 2nd ride of the year despite the freezing temperatures and light snow flurries and we were greeted with the best track conditions at Stegenwald I think I have ever ridden.
They have built a really nice uphill rhythm section which you can double, double, double if you keep it pinned from the corner and nail the landings perfectly. So satisfying to hit right! The sequence above is of Zacher hitting them. You can click it to make it bigger.
We also sessioned the big tabletop in the corner which now has a slightly longer and smoother landing. It’s still a beast of a jump though, I have to ride the straight wide open in 4th and then do a late shift into 5th gear on my 150sx to get me over it cleanly!
Trying a bit of scrub practice. Amongst other things I clearly need to drop my elbow!
They have started building a 1km long endurocross track there now too which we tried out and which should be great by the time it’s finished.
1st double in the rhythm section.
Zacher has some new plastics ready for some new stickers, but the stickers are not ready yet, so he covered the shrouds with duct tape to protect them.
