With the release this week of midjourney V5 you don’t need to prompt anymore, now you just write a sentence. I found it a little tricky at the start to get on the right track but once you get into the flow and find a style and direction you like it’s quite remarkable what and how fast you can create. I think a designer is still going to get better output from it than a non designer, and a photographer will get a better look than somebody who doesn’t know anything about photography. Knowledge is still required to really harness the power of AI. At the moment anyway! #aidesign #bikedesign #industrialdesign #design #emobility #bikes

Ok, so I learnt quite a lot from this on what not to do and have a good idea on how to do better next time but in any case, I had a great chat with @jonesemtb for the first episode of the new DERESTRICTED podcast! Steve is currently a presenter on @emountainbikenetwork and was kind enough to come and chat about bikes, beer, batteries and other things so a huge thanks to him for offering me some of his precious time and wisdom.

The thought of doing this actually terrifies me, but I have been lucky enough to meet a lot of interesting people along this journey as a Designer in the action sports industries so putting out some conversations with them could be a way of giving something back and hopefully inspiring others. I am grateful and honoured to have been invited to Taiwan for the TAIPEI CYCLE d&i awards ( @ifdesign ) 2023 as a member of the design Jury. @hdc_m has won some iF awards in the past with #haibike so it’s super cool to be able to get another perspective on the awards. The event kicks off later today so I have had 24 hours since I got here to explore the city and be shown some nice spots by @kenorama and @jean_shiu . What an incredible city it is. Full of contrast and Color, great food, friendly people and more LED’s than I have ever seen! I woke up early with jet lag so took a run up elephant mountain behind the city to check the stunning views and came across another older part of the city by chance on the way down. I am Looking forward to the rest of the week! #griii #taipei #explore

Happy new year! 2022 has been pretty good, like always with many highs and many lows, but I’m feeling better than I have done for years both physically and mentally. Lots of exciting things happening in 2023, but also lots of fear and uncertainty from the invasion of Ukraine and the horrific war that is going on there. As long as it continues we will all live under a dark cloud, especially in Europe. Let’s hope that peace and light can ultimately prevail over hate and darkness. Talking of light, I bought a #ricohgriii to bridge the gap between my DSLR and iPhone. Some of these photos were taken by my youngest son over the holidays as we explored the joy of photography together. Driving back from Megavalanche last summer on deserted roads, I passed through La Grave just as the sun was setting. The light was so incredible that I had to pull over and take a few photos which I had totally forgotten about until now. Im sure we are all looking forward to traveling again. No doubt the economy is going to fade pretty bad after this, but nature will look still look as magnificent as ever.
