My nine your old son asked me this morning how I got into design after school and what I thought he should focus on, because he wants to design bikes when he is older. It got me thinking, because the way we design bikes today did not exist when I was a kid, so how will we be designing in another 20-30 years? Directly in VR I would imagine. Or most likely an as yet unknown evolution of that, but basic principles of design will in all likelihood be as relevant then as now. Today, there are a lot of steps to the Color, Trim and graphics process that we have been refining over the last years @hdc_m , but one of my favourites parts of the process is working directly in 3D, using nodes to explore colors, material, finishes and graphics, something I could never have imagined when typing out basic code on an old BBC computer when I was a 9 year old kid, but certainly some of the things I learned back then such as attention to detail, focus, vision and perseverance still help me today. #design #3d #keyshot #emtb #nodes #graphics #haibike
