KTM 1290 Superduke – Sigma lens test

KTM 1290 Superduke – Sigma lens test

Next Wednesday we have something a little bit special to show you on derestricted (Apologies, but due to circumstances out of my control, this will now have to wait until the Geneva Motor show on 7th March). Since the light was so good I also took a few of the KTM 1290 Superduke concept bike which we still have in the Kiska studio.

This was my first time shooting with the Sigma 17-50mm 1:2.8 EX DC OS HSM lens and I have to say I am really impressed. I also shot RAW which is something I haven’t done much of in the past. It is quite clear that the combination of the Sigma EX lens and shooting RAW gives a much better result than my old 35mm prime which I have been using for the past couple of years. This combination should help take the photos I shoot on derestricted to a higher level in future. Not that this bike actually needs any help to look good!

Why can’t KTM leave me that prototype to take care of?

Love the orange – are we looking at a stock RAL colour or some ‘special brew’?

amazing pics / bike ! Very nice composition too. Always feel so generic when I take a bike picture…

Any chance to get hands on screen-friendly resolution, like 1920×1200 ?
My desktop needs a new kick ass dress ! ;)

What does the R stand for? I just noticed that many sport bikes have it in their name…R1, CBR, GSX-R, ZX10-R, R1200R, 1199 Panigale R, Daytona 675 R.

Awesome, I want one. Is the seat as hard as it looks? Could be a problem for my old butt.

Yea, but it’s just for the prototype. The Production bike will have a proper seat.
