The sun started coming out after lunch today and my wife had some things she wanted to do, so I grabbed the chance to get out for a quick ride. There is snow on the peaks and it was a little chilly but the light was perfect. I set out on my own but as I was cruising through town on the way to the start of the mountain pass I heard the roar of an engine behind me and knew right away it was my regular riding buddy Manuel. Not many people have a 690 Duke R with the DB eater out making such a distinct sound. Perfect! It was a massive coincidence to find him but it couldn’t have been a better surprise! Neither of us had a proper camera with us, and I wasn’t really planning on taking any photos, but Manuel has a fancy new iPhone 5 and the light was brilliant so we stopped at a few spots and took some photos. Not many more chances to ride this year, if at all, so it was nice to get some pictures as a memento for the next 5 months of snow.
You can see my house in this one.
The one above is with my iPhone 4, the one below with Manuel’s iPhone 5. Does look a little better.
