Red Bull KTM Factory rider Ken Roczen sealed second overall and factory teammate Ryan Dungey a fourth at Rd. 4 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series on Saturday at the High Point Raceway, Mt. Morris Pennsylvania to retain the top two place in the points table.

Roczen, the German teenager and current series point leader was fastest qualifier but he and Dungey did not have the starts they wanted in the first moto. Dungey came around the first corner in eighth place and quickly began to make passes. Roczen was back at twelfth position on the first lap. Both riders put down the hammer and by the halfway point were in podium contention. They then battled together for the runner-up position in the last laps of the race with Roczen eventually taking the spot over Dungey.

Both riders had better starts in the second moto to be in the top five at the first corner and then pursued Trey Canard through most of the moto for a podium position. When it came down to the final laps, Roczen and Dungey again fought it out for a podium place place. Dungey made the pass on Roczen but crashed with a few laps remaining and lost the position to his younger teammate, who went on to take third. Roczen’s 2-3 moto results were enough to secure second overall and Dungey finished fourth overall.

“Not getting a good start in both motos hurt me today,” stated Roczen. “I got held up a little bit at certain times on the track but I was happy with how I bounced back from poor starts and still landed on the podium. I’m happy to be consistent and continue to hold the point lead heading to the next round.”

Roczen and Dungey both ride the KTM 450 SX-F.

KTM rider Anderson third; Musquin seventh in 250-class
Jason Anderson powered his KTM machine to a podium third in the 250-class while Red Bull KTM Factory rider Marvin Musquin, recently returning to racing after a long injury break picked up a seventh overall at High Point.

Musquin remained consistent in his racing results from the third to the fourth round of the series to finish fifth in the opening moto. Anderson was seventh.

“I was happy with my finish in the first moto,” stated Musquin. “I am trying to work toward a top three but am definitely happy to be inside the top five again.”

In the second moto Musquin had a top ten start, battled for ninth in the first few laps and eventually worked his way up one more position and carried the eighth place to the line. Meanwhile Anderson’s second place in the second moto was enough to put him on the podium in third while Musquin finished seventh overall and is now seventh in the series point chase.

Riders now have a week’s break before returning to racing at Blountville, Tennessee – June 28, 2014
