Ride and hike with the inlaws

Took my wife for a ride finally.

She was a good passenger.

It got kind of cold again but it was a really nice ride.

We drove up to the snowline and then went for a hike up to a hut. I drove back later on my own and really started getting wheelies dialed. Never ridden a bike where it was so easy to do them.

I used to always wear an MX helmet back in London on my 125 but on this 690 it sucks, so much wind resistance over 100!

    Hi Hans, yes it’s a Gobert replica from about 8 years ago. I had a friend who worked at Suomi years ago who i did a bit of design work for and she was kind enough to let me have a helmet.

    @ ptsp… well if you think wheelies on the single are easy then you must try the 990 SM-T!!! Wheely heaven!

    I used to ride the step brother of the 690 Duke – the 690 Supermoto aka the Ugly Duckling or Pinochio.

    Ever wondered how a Duke 690 would look infused with some Flat Track spirit taken from the last Sideburn issue?

    If a Flat Track Duke 690 is a far away dream, I suggest at least upgrading the exhaust pipe to an Akrapovic system complete with new EFI mapping.

    Yea, a 690 flat tracker would be very nice. Has definitely been discussed but despite being wicked cool I think its more for the custom market than the mass market. On the roads here a supermoto is way more practical and fun than a tracker too.

    The Akrapovic system complete with new EFI mapping is pretty much the only mod I am looking to do on the duke, I just wish it wasn’t so dam expensive!

    I don`t expect factories like KTM to produce a custom flat track.

    I was thinking more as a personal project.
    Custom head light, modified fuel tank, spoked wheels.
    The 690 Duke looks like the perfect base to start such a project.

    yea, it would be super cool. I guess the main challenge would be first of all getting the overall height down a bit somehow.
