Marc Coma and Ronnie Renner

Marc Coma and Ronnie Renner

Just days after his fifth triumph at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, Marc Coma demonstrated that he has brilliant control of his KTM 450 not only while racing at speeds of up to 170 km/h. Under the watchful eye of Freestyle Motocross athlete Ronnie Renner (USA), Coma made a daring 15-meter long and 6-meter high jump on his 140-kg Rally bike in the eternal desert between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Just hit refresh and… oh shit!

Coma is god. Fantastic photos, proper stoke factor for a dull day at work.

Hey, what was wrong with Sheffield? I quite enjoyed living there – although I quite enjoy not living there now :)

Think I’m gonna pretend I’m Coma on the way home.

was ok sometimes, some nice people there, but I just found it kind of depressing. Grey, rainy and even though the peak district is great in the summer I missed some proper mountains. Plus i was a broke student which wasnt much fun.

Grey, rainy – you ought to try Manchester :(

Funny tho, I was working (plastic ski hill) and I was still broke :)

No shit? I taught snowboarding there for about 5 lessons before I quit. Just didnt have the patience for it.
Broke my hand in a contest there too, didnt even crash, just jumped a bit too big and snapped a bone in my hand as it touched the matting. was a fun slope but back then the meshes were fairly unforgiving.

:) I used to be Head Ski Tech/Ski Patroller up there. Know what you mean about the matting tho, pretty harsh, I spent most of my time with mat shaped bruises all over me.

Broke my wrist up there too – jumping one of the little cliffs at the side of the slope when it snowed one winter – landing on your hands isn’t such a good idea.

They were the days, young, free…. and idiots :)

I used to hate iPods until I finally got one yesterday and now I’m quite enamoured with it. Still working out the camera though.

Impressive how far marc jumps on that bike. Think it might be loosely based on the exc 450 though which is great for jumping.

I chose to blindly believe it was Coma – I’m way more Coma than Despres…

Anyway the Rally bike looks cool flyin’.
