Worked out today that based on when we started riding on the roads last year at the end of winter, we should be able to ride in roughly 7 weeks time for the first time this year. We are at around 460 m elevation here and it’s too cold, slippery and icy before then.

Gives some time to think and plan…

P.S. Having just typed that, my 16 year old neighbour just pulled out of our street on his 50cc supermoto and screamed off down the road, so I guess you can ride now. Time to think and plan a bit faster. When are these out?

Hmm, more snow planned though. OM.

We’ve been pretty lucky with the weather so far – only one ‘no grip’ sketchy day and no crying cos your hands are too cold…. pretty windy ride to work today tho.

New chain and sprockets have made me feel a bit better about it all too :)

    Gonna get a 690 again?

Yea, I used to ride everyday when i lived in London, rain or snow, but that was when I rode out of necessity to get to work and also out of a preference over public transport as it actually worked out cheaper to run an old tuned DT 125 than buy a monthly tube card.
Now i drive a car out of necessity due to having to take my boy to daycare and stuff. Will be great when he is old enough to ride on the back, then maybe i can trade the car in for a bike again.

yesa, I love the 690 engine. so powerful, smooth, frugal and the bikes attached to it are wicked too. Question is which 690…

Yep, love riding the bike every day – it’s the best bit of the working day. Haven’t had to put the winter liner in the jacket this winter either.

I reckon get a van for the fam, keep the bike for ‘me’ time :)

690 dream bike – enduro with a set of 17’s for the weekday, swapped out on the weekend for a bit of adventure riding. Maybe fairing’d up with rally raid bling.

Liking the new duke more an more and completely understand the stunt concept bike now (having looked back at some old stuff).
