    Looks like a big mashup of parts, a tuning job of sorts. Let me turn that KTM 690 Enduro side panel upside down and see if I can use it on another bike.

    Reminds me of the stripped down scooter trend http://i29.photobucket.com/albums/c259/Buks83/scooterscarenato.jpg and Yamaha Ruckus.

    Remember the old Italjet Dragster and the Honda Cub EZ 90? Those designs challenged conventional scooter design aesthetic in a similar way 15 years ago.

    My question is, could a progressive electric scooter have its own digital identity? After all aren’t we becoming more high tech and moving away from the traditional, industrial, mechanical motorcycle expression. Think of the progression between typewriter, laptop design and smartphone design and how they are designed and used differently. The scooter, being a low speed/stress vehicle would be the perfect low risk product for such design study/exploration.

    Admittedly although I know nothing about its new user interface and functional design, my first impression is that the E-Speed has too much traditional aesthetic design narrative. Much like a Paddock Scooter.

    Electroluminescent bodywork would have been interesting. Providing both greater night time visibility of younger consumers that are typically using scooters and new luminescent colour expressions in line with their progressive digital lives.
